Golden Knight US Army Sergeant First Class Paul D. Rafferty (Retired), 40, of Camp Hill passed away Thursday, April 29, in Temple University Hospital.
Born on February 29, , in Harrisburg, PA, Rafferty made more than 16, jumps during his illustrious career. He began his skydiving journey with the Golden Knights in , quickly earning a spot on their demo team and later moving to the 8-way formation skydiving team.
His skydiving achievements include winning five consecutive gold medals at the Skydiving World Parachuting Championships and a gold medal at the World Cup of Relative Work. Rafferty was also a time USPA National 8-way FS Champion and part of the team that set the way FAI World Record for Largest Formation Skydive.
